Service Area

The main 102.5 FM signal comes from the Vicars Lot transmitter close to the M62 between Scammonden Dam and junction 23, close to the Scammonden arched bridge. This signal covers a lot of West Yorkshire and can be heard as far south as Doncaster and Sheffield, and also in the other direction in Lancashire and Greater Manchester (although Lancashire and Greater Manchester isn't the intended broadcast area). The signal is much stronger, and the transmitter at a higher altitude than the Idle transmitter. The 97.5 FM signal covers Bradford, and comes from the Idle transmitter, which is on the top of Idle Moor, between Idle and Shipley. The Idle transmitter also carries national radio frequencies, Galaxy Yorkshire on 105.6FM, Sunrise Radio on 103.2FM and Real Radio for Yorkshire on 107.6FM.

Famous quotes containing the words service and/or area:

A man’s real faith is never contained in his creed, nor is his creed an article of his faith. The last is never adopted. This it is that permits him to smile ever, and to live even as bravely as he does. And yet he clings anxiously to his creed, as to a straw, thinking that that does him good service because his sheet anchor does not drag.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

Whether we regard the Women’s Liberation movement as a serious threat, a passing convulsion, or a fashionable idiocy, it is a movement that mounts an attack on practically everything that women value today and introduces the language and sentiments of political confrontation into the area of personal relationships.
    Arianna Stassinopoulos (b. 1950)
