Athletics and Clubs

Athletic fields include football, soccer, baseball/softball as well as a track; the wooded campus is also a favored cross-country meet locale. Several acres of the campus are set aside for the Outdoor Adventure Area and the Nature Trail, including a creek, climbing walls and ropes course. There are four tennis courts. Heritage also boasts a Swim team and Golf team. Next year, they will be starting an Equestrian program. The football team played its first game in August 2006 and appeared in their first playoff game in 2008. The baseball team has been a finalist for the GISA AA championship in 2008 and 2009 and won the state championship in 2010. The girls soccer team was the State Runner-Up in 2009. The boys basketball team won the state championship in 2002. The boys and girls cross country teams won the team state championship in 2010, and are the most successful Cross Country program in GISA history. The Heritage Tennis Program has also won both the 2011 and 2012 GISA-AA state championships. The football program won the 2AAA region championship in 2012 while finishing runner up in the state championship.

Famous quotes containing the word clubs:

The true reformer does not want time, nor money, nor coöperation, nor advice. What is time but the stuff delay is made of? And depend upon it, our virtue will not live on the interest of our money. He expects no income, but outgoes; so soon as we begin to count the cost, the cost begins. And as for advice, the information floating in the atmosphere of society is as evanescent and unserviceable to him as gossamer for clubs of Hercules.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
