The First Annual Report

The First Annual Report (or The First Annual Report Of Throbbing Gristle) is a bootleg of music recorded by Throbbing Gristle. Throbbing Gristle's debut was a cassette (later released commercially as IRC 0, with the label noting "This tape was originally hand copied and sent to friends.") titled Best Of.... Volume I, and was followed by Best Of.... Volume II cassette (IRC 1), which contained the tracks "Very Friendly", "Scars of E", "Slugbait", "We Hate You" and "Dead Ed". Tracks contained on The First Annual Report were pulled from these early cassettes, but included neither in their entirety.

This bootleg was originally released as Very Friendly on vinyl in 1987, with a CD version released under the same title in 1993. The version titled The First Annual Report was released in 2001.

Famous quotes containing the words annual and/or report:

I would not have every man nor every part of a man cultivated, any more than I would have every acre of earth cultivated: part will be tillage, but the greater part will be meadow and forest, not only serving an immediate use, but preparing a mould against a distant future, by the annual decay of the vegetation which it supports.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

... while many people pride themselves, and with no exaggeration, on their ability to hear with sympathy of the downfall, sickness, and death of others, very few people seem to know what to do with a report of joy, happiness, good luck.
    Jessamyn West (1902–1984)
