The Center For Democracy and Human Rights in Saudi Arabia - International Implications

International Implications

Given the religious and economic importance of Saudi Arabia to the 1.2 billion Muslims and the international community at large, democratizing Saudi Arabia will have effects throughout Arab and Muslim countries and beyond. Like other peoples, the Saudi people wish to be productive, live in harmony with each other, with other peoples and will to embrace democracy.

CDHR promotes the following: Empowering the appointed Shura Council to become the elected legislative national parliament; religious freedom for all peoples; empowerment of Saudi women to participate in all decision-making processes; tolerance of and respect for religious minorities; freedom of the press and all forms of expressions and assemblages, as well as privatization of all government's industries and public utilities.

Famous quotes containing the word implications:

Philosophical questions are not by their nature insoluble. They are, indeed, radically different from scientific questions, because they concern the implications and other interrelations of ideas, not the order of physical events; their answers are interpretations instead of factual reports, and their function is to increase not our knowledge of nature, but our understanding of what we know.
    Susanne K. Langer (1895–1985)
