The Texas State Bobcats are the sports teams that represent Texas State University–San Marcos. Currently, they compete in the Western Athletic Conference in NCAA Division I (Football Bowl Subdivision for football). They have 16 teams: football, men's and women's basketball, baseball, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's golf, men's and women's indoor track and field, men's and women's outdoor track and field, women's tennis, women's soccer, women's softball and women's volleyball. Texas State will join the Sun Belt Conference on July 1, 2013.
