After Brown

On November 18, 2008, The University of Texas announced that Longhorn defensive coordinator Will Muschamp would eventually succeed Mack Brown as head football coach. They agreed in principle to increase Muschamp’s salary to $900,000. There was no timetable set for Brown’s departure, and both Brown and UT said they expected Brown to stay a long time. Following the Longhorns' 5-7 season in 2010, Muschamp accepted the head coaching position at the University of Florida and it is currently unknown if the school is willing to designate a new "head coach in waiting."

Famous quotes containing the word brown:

    Unreal city,
Under the brown fog of a winter dawn,
A crowd flowed over London Bridge, so many,
I had not thought death had undone so many.
    —T.S. (Thomas Stearns)

The brown waves of fog toss up to me
Twisted faces from the bottom of the street,
And tear from a passer-by with muddy skirts
An aimless smile that hovers in the air
And vanishes along the level of the roofs.
    —T.S. (Thomas Stearns)
