Szczytno-Szymany International Airport

Szczytno-Szymany International Airport (IATA: SZY, ICAO: EPSY) is a currently inoperative Polish regional airport located in the village Szymany, some 10 km from the center of the city of Szczytno in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship in the North of Poland. It is the only airport in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. As of 2007 the airport does not have any year-round scheduled service, and in fact is not open for traffic. When active, it catered mostly to general aviation, charter flights and seasonally scheduled connections in the summer. It used to have scheduled passenger service to Warsaw.

Famous quotes containing the word airport:

Airplanes are invariably scheduled to depart at such times as 7:54, 9:21 or 11:37. This extreme specificity has the effect on the novice of instilling in him the twin beliefs that he will be arriving at 10:08, 1:43 or 4:22, and that he should get to the airport on time. These beliefs are not only erroneous but actually unhealthy.
