CoolBrands had sold its operating business in 2007 and subsequently merged with Swisher Hygiene Inc. in 2010. On November 2, 2010, Swisher completed a merger with and into CoolBrands International Inc., whereby it became a publicly traded company. CoolBrands had previously sold its operating business in 2007 and since that time had been looking for the right business combination whereby the shareholders of CoolBrands and the surviving company could benefit from the strength of CoolBrand's balance sheet coupled with the fact that CoolBrands was publicly traded. On November 15, 2012 Swisher Hygiene announced the sale of its waste business for $125,000,000 in cash.
