Swingin' Ape Studios

Swingin' Ape Studios is a video game development studio founded in July 2000 by Steve Ranck, Mike Starich and Scott Goffman after leaving Midway Home Entertainment. They had just completed the successful water-based arcade racer, Hydro Thunder.

Swingin' Ape Studios specialized in multiplatform game development. In 2003, the company released Metal Arms: Glitch in the System for Nintendo GameCube, Xbox, and PlayStation 2 and it was published by Vivendi Universal and Sierra Entertainment. This was the only game they would release under the Swingin' Ape name. The company was acquired by Blizzard Entertainment in May 2005, during development of StarCraft: Ghost which was put on indefinite hold following the purchase.
