Sweet Like Chocolate - Chart Performance

Chart Performance

"Sweet Like Chocolate" went to number one on the UK Singles Chart, achieved platinum status and was a top ten in a number of countries. It became the first record ever to top the UK Singles Chart, UK Independent Chart, UK R&B Chart and UK Dance Chart simultaneously.

The single was a hit even before commercial release, receiving months of club play before debuting at number 1 and remaining there for two weeks. The song had charmed over the United Kingdom, becoming one of the most popular singles of the late 1990s. Many journalists commented on the song's unavoidable presence on the streets of London. The single became Britain's eighth biggest selling single of 1999.

Famous quotes containing the words chart and/or performance:

Perhaps in His wisdom the Almighty is trying to show us that a leader may chart the way, may point out the road to lasting peace, but that many leaders and many peoples must do the building.
    Eleanor Roosevelt (1884–1962)

So long as the source of our identity is external—vested in how others judge our performance at work, or how others judge our children’s performance, or how much money we make—we will find ourselves hopelessly flawed, forever short of the ideal.
    Melinda M. Marshall (20th century)
