  • The bar where Marge meets Ruth Powers is named 'Let's hear it for the Soy', a reference to the Deniece Williams song "Let's Hear It for the Boy".
  • As Marge gulps down steroids in the manner of Popeye eating spinach, the Popeye theme plays.
