Stripes Convenience Stores

Stripes Convenience Stores

Stripes Stores is a chain of over 541 convenience stores in Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma, owned by Susser Holdings Corporation. These locations are former Circle K and Town & Country Food Stores. Other convenience store brands they operate under include IceBox and Quick Stuff. It is one of the largest non-refining operators of convenience stores in the USA.

Many locations offer Chevron, Conoco, Exxon, Phillips 66, Shell, Texaco, Valero, and unbranded gasoline; most locations previously sold gasoline under the CITGO name, when the chain was Circle K. More than 300 locations also feature the proprietary Laredo Taco Company brand of Mexican fast food, or Country Cookin’ branded fast food.

In 2007 the company acquired the Town & Country Food Stores chain and in August 2009, the company acquired 25 Quick Stuff convenience stores in Texas and Louisiana from Jack in the Box Inc.

The headquarters are located in Corpus Christi, Texas.

The company CEO is Sam L. Susser

The Laredo Taco Company uses all fresh ingredients, all ingredients are brought in raw, not precooked, except for the seasonings. The seasonings for many of the dishes are prepackaged and provided to each location by the parent company, so if you get a picadillo taco, it will taste the same at all locations. All food is prepared and cooked on site, in full view of the customers. The menu varies a bit at different locations, and some cater to the desires of the local area, such as some areas like thick, smaller tortillas, and some like thinner, larger tortillas.

Famous quotes containing the words stripes, convenience and/or stores:

If the Americans, in addition to the eagle and the Stars and Stripes and the more unofficial symbols of bison, moose and Indian, should ever need another emblem, one which is friendly and pleasant, then I think they should choose the grapefruit. Or rather the half grapefruit, for this fruit only comes in halves, I believe. Practically speaking, it is always yellow, always just as fresh and well served. And it always comes at the same, still hopeful hour of the morning.
    Johan Huizinga (1872–1945)

Your favor containing the question, as to whether I consider myself a “new woman” is before me. As a rule I do not consider myself at all. I am, and always have been a progressive woman, and while never directly attacking the conventionalities of society, have always done, or attempted to do those things which I have considered conducive to my health, convenience or emolument ...
    Belva Lockwood (1830–1917)

Piles of gold are not as good as stores of grain.
