Strathclyde Law School - Mooting

Mooting

The Law School has an active mooting society, which organises an internal competition and competes in various Scottish and UK external competitions.

Strathclyde won the UKELA Student Moot comepetition in 2009. Strathclyde is also the reigning champion of the Alexander Stone Moot, having won four out of the last five competitions in 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2013. They were also the 2009 European Champion of the international Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot and represented Europe at the world finals in South Korea in October 2009.

Strathclyde also participates in the annual Sheriff Moot, organised by Glasgow Sheriff Court, against the Glasgow Law School. Strathclyde currently holds the trophy, while the series is tied 10-10.

The current President of Mooting is Shaun Alexander, and Vice-President is Andrew Ross.
