Stone Ridge School of The Sacred Heart - Curriculum

Curriculum

Through the focus on the Five Goals of Sacred Heart education, students are encouraged to stretch themselves every day. The educational program offered is designed to nurture and inspire young women to find themselves, to develop their gifts, and to gain confidence in the knowledge that their lives have meaning and purpose. The faculty has developed rich curricula and practices pedagogy based on best practices aimed at how girls learn best. Using innovative technology our students are prepared for 21st-century success, and through the award-winning Social Action Program, students gain the habits of a giving heart.

The Upper School One-to-One Laptop Program equips each participating student with an Apple Macbook Pro computer to facilitate learning within the world of technology. The students are given an assigned laptop for both school and personal use for the entire length of the program (from when they enroll in the Upper School to when they leave or graduate). Throughout their participation in the One-to-One Laptop program, students are strongly encouraged to embrace technology at every opportunity in their classes, for their individual studies and research projects and while engaged in campus life activities and events.

Famous quotes containing the word curriculum:

If we focus exclusively on teaching our children to read, write, spell, and count in their first years of life, we turn our homes into extensions of school and turn bringing up a child into an exercise in curriculum development. We should be parents first and teachers of academic skills second.
    Neil Kurshan (20th century)
