Curatorial Work

Holmes was curator at the alternative space Real Art Ways from 2000 to 2005 and is now curator of The Cartin Collection, a private collection of Contemporary Art based in Hartford.

In addition, Holmes conceived of and initiated the Real Art Ways projects POZA and FAITH.

From 2008 to 2010 he curated exhibitions at Ars Libri in Boston, mostly single artist shows, but also some very small themed exhibitions.

In fall of 2008, he organized SCULPTING TIME, at Sperone Westwater, featuring work by Giorgio Morandi, On Kawara, Roman Opalka, Joseph Albers, and Andrew Grassie. This show was well reviewed, including reviews in the New York Times and The New Yorker.

In the spring of 2009 Holmes began working as Adjunct Curator at the Bass Museum of Art in Miami Beach and has done two exhibitions there - The Endless Renaissance and Human Rites.
