International Career

Caldwell represented Scotland at International level. He made his debut for Scotland in a 1–1 draw away in Poland at the Zdzisław Krzyszkowiak Stadiumon the 25 April 2001.

he made his home debut on the 12 February 2003 in a 2–0 defeat to the Republic of Ireland at Hampden Park.

Caldwell was involved in Scotland's qualification for the 2006 FIFA World Cup make 2 appearances, the first a 1–1 draw with Moldova away at the Zimbru Stadium in Chişinău, and the second coming in a 3–0 away win over Slovenia at the Arena Petrol in Celje.

Caldwell as made an appearance in Scotland's 4–0 defeat to Norway during Scotland's qualification for the 2010 FIFA World Cup when they finished 3rd in Group 9. Caldwell currently has 10 caps for the national team.
