Steps in Time

Steps in Time is the 1984 debut album by the English Coventry band King, produced by Richard James Burgess and released by CBS Records. Although lasting just two years and a half, King had five UK Top 40 hit songs, including two Top 10 hits: "Love & Pride" (#2), the re-release of their debut single from the first album, and "Alone Without You" (#8) from their second album Bitter Sweet (after that, the lead singer Paul King went on to start a brief solo career, releasing one more album, Joy). After the first single "Love & Pride", a second single, "Won't You Hold My Hand Now" was released, which got to Number 24 in the UK. A live videoclip was also released for "Trouble", and aired by MTV, but the song never came out as a single.

The tape edition of the LP was soon re-released with eight bonus tracks, including B-Sides, previously unreleased songs and some remixes, among which were "Love & Pride (Body & Soul Mix)" and "Won't You Hold My Hand Now (Heavy Times Mix)".

Famous quotes containing the words steps and/or time:

I lie and wait for morning, and the birds,
The first steps going down the unswept street,
Voices of girls with scarves around their heads.
    Philip Larkin (1922–1986)

As yesterday and the historical ages are past, as the work of today is present, so some flitting perspectives and demi-experiences of the life that is in nature are in time veritably future, or rather outside of time, perennial, young, divine, in the wind and rain which never die.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
