Stephan Jenkins - Early Life

Early Life

Jenkins was born in Indio, California on September 27, 1964. He grew up in Palo Alto, California and attended Henry M. Gunn Senior High School. Stephan started his musical career early in life. He recalls banging out original works at the age of five, pulling out pots and pans on the floor of his kitchen at home in Southern California. When he was 13, his family briefly relocated to Madison, Wisconsin to support his father's career, but the Jenkins family quickly returned to the Bay just two years later. In 1987 he graduated as valedictorian of his class from University of California, Berkeley with a B.A. in English Literature, despite suffering from both ADHD and dyslexia.

Famous quotes containing the words early life, early and/or life:

Many a woman shudders ... at the terrible eclipse of those intellectual powers which in early life seemed prophetic of usefulness and happiness, hence the army of martyrs among our married and unmarried women who, not having cultivated a taste for science, art or literature, form a corps of nervous patients who make fortunes for agreeable physicians ...
    Sarah M. Grimke (1792–1873)

    Well, it’s early yet!
Robert Pirosh, U.S. screenwriter, George Seaton, George Oppenheimer, and Sam Wood. Dr. Hugo Z. Hackenbush (Groucho Marx)

To divide one’s life by years is of course to tumble into a trap set by our own arithmetic. The calendar consents to carry on its dull wall-existence by the arbitrary timetables we have drawn up in consultation with those permanent commuters, Earth and Sun. But we, unlike trees, need grow no annual rings.
    Clifton Fadiman (b. 1904)
