Station Inspector

Station Inspector (abbreviation: SI, Chinese: 驻署警长) is the third highest non-commissioned officer rank in the Singapore Police Force, below that of Senior Station Inspector.

The term was also formerly used by the London Metropolitan Police to distinguish ordinary Inspectors from the more senior Sub-Divisional Inspectors.

Famous quotes containing the words station and/or inspector:

I introduced her to Elena, and in that life-quickening atmosphere of a big railway station where everything is something trembling on the brink of something else, thus to be clutched and cherished, the exchange of a few words was enough to enable two totally dissimilar women to start calling each other by their pet names the very next time they met.
    Vladimir Nabokov (1899–1977)

Inspector Clouseau: How can a blind man be a lookout?
Chief Inspector Dreyfus: How can an idiot be a policeman? Answer me that!
Inspector Clouseau: It’s very simple. All he has to do is enlist.
    Blake Edwards (b. 1922)
