Matthew Jordan Swagerty (born July 14, 1989) is a professional baseball pitcher in the St. Louis Cardinals organization.

Swagerty was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 44th round of the 2008 MLB Draft out of Prestonwood Christian Academy, but did not sign, opting to attend college. Swagerty attended Arizona State University, where he played for the Arizona State Sun Devils baseball team in the Pacific-10 Conference. Out of Arizona State, the Cardinals drafted Swagerty in the second round of the 2010 MLB Draft.

Keith Law of ESPN.com ranked Swagerty the 92nd best prospect in baseball prior to the 2012 season.

He was scheduled to undergo season-ending surgery in early April 2012, to remove bone spurs in his right elbow, and Tommy John surgery to repair a ligament. He was ranked #7 in the Cardinals' organization, pitching at the Double-A Springfield Cardinals.
