South Today

South Today is the BBC's regional television news programme for Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, the majority of West Sussex, eastern Dorset, southern and eastern Oxfordshire (except South Oxfordshire), southern Northamptonshire, western Berkshire and parts of Buckinghamshire, Surrey and Wiltshire. Since 2000, an opt-out of the main programme (originally called South Today Oxford, then BBC Oxford News and now re-branded back to simply South Today) has also covered most of Oxfordshire, eastern Gloucestershire, western Buckinghamshire and northern parts of Berkshire and Wiltshire.

Famous quotes containing the words south and/or today:

Up from the South at break of day,
    Bringing to Winchester fresh dismay,
The affrighted air with a shudder bore,
Like a herald in haste, to the chieftain’s door,
The terrible grumble, and rumble, and roar,
Telling the battle was on once more,
    And Sheridan twenty miles away.
    Thomas Buchanan Read (1822–1872)

If Shakespeare were alive today and writing comedy for the movies, he would be the head-liner for the Mack Sennett studios.
    Robert Benchley (1889–1945)
