South Lyon East High School was built to compensate for the overcrowding at South Lyon High School. It is a part of South Lyon Community Schools. It celebrated its grand opening in September 2007. The school currently contains all four grades: Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors. The current principal is Dr. David Phillips, and the assistant principal is Linda Chudy-Bowman.
