Soulmate (song) - Critical Reception

Critical Reception

The song received negative reviews from critics in the UK. Paul Taylor of the Manchester Evening News called the song "impassioned", but IndieLondon.co.uk called the track "far too sentimental" and rated it two out of five stars. In a review for the BBC, Lizzie Ennever named the song one of the "obviously 'not-so-great' tracks" from N.B., comparing it to Australian singer Tina Arena.

Famous quotes containing the words critical and/or reception:

The critical method which denies literary modernity would appear—and even, in certain respects, would be—the most modern of critical movements.
    Paul Deman (1919–1983)

I gave a speech in Omaha. After the speech I went to a reception elsewhere in town. A sweet old lady came up to me, put her gloved hand in mine, and said, “I hear you spoke here tonight.” “Oh, it was nothing,” I replied modestly. “Yes,” the little old lady nodded, “that’s what I heard.”
    Gerald R. Ford (b. 1913)
