Sophia Gardens is a public park in Cardiff, Wales, named after Sophia Rawdon-Hastings, the second wife of John Crichton-Stuart, 2nd Marquess of Bute. Sophia Gardens is best known as the home of Glamorgan County Cricket Club and is the location of the SWALEC Stadium.
Sophia Gardens is located in Riverside on the bank of the River Taff, close to Cardiff city centre. As well as the Glamorgan CCC ground, it contains the Sport Wales National Centre, an exhibition area and a large car park. Sophia Gardens is adjacent to Bute Park and Pontcanna Fields, and is in the care of Cardiff Council.
Sophia Gardens formerly hosted the Cardiff Horse Show. Between 20th September 1891 and 26th September the park was home to Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show during his 1891 tour of British Provincial towns.
