Solpadeine

Solpadeine is the brand name of a range of pain-relief medication made by GlaxoSmithKline.

In Australia it is marketed as Panadeine

There appear to be four different medicines using the Solpadeine name, with no common active ingredient between them.

The range includes:

  • Solpadeine Headache, a combination of paracetamol and caffeine
  • Solpadeine Plus, a compound analgesic containing paracetamol and codeine (Co-codamol), with caffeine
  • Solpadeine Max, a compound analgesic containing paracetamol and codeine (Co-codamol), with a higher codeine content than Solpadeine Plus
  • Solpadeine Migraine, a compound analgesic containing ibuprofen and codeine

Solpadeine Max tablets contain 12.8 mg of codeine, which in combination with the paracetamol, is effective at relieving mild to moderate pain.
