Governance

SSHRC is governed by a council appointed by the Canadian federal government to represent the interests of the academic, public and private sectors. The council reports to the Parliament of Canada via the Minister of Industry. SSHRC’s governing council oversees three committees that chart the direction of the organization, and attempt to ensure that its programs meet the needs of Canadians. These committees are: • Executive, Governance and Nominations Committee • Independent Audit Committee • Programs and Quality Committee
