Simon Langton Grammar School For Boys - Academic Performance

Academic Performance

The 2009 Ofsted inspection notes that the school "provides a good quality of education for its students", and goes on to say that "achievement is good because the targets the school sets are appropriately demanding and students make good progress during their time at the school, and very high standards." It did however state that The Langton needed to "give students more opportunities to play an active role in more lessons."

The CERN Courier described the school as "one of the most active in implementing innovative ways of teaching science in the UK".

Famous quotes containing the words academic and/or performance:

If twins are believed to be less intelligent as a class than single-born children, it is not surprising that many times they are also seen as ripe for social and academic problems in school. No one knows the extent to which these kind of attitudes affect the behavior of multiples in school, and virtually nothing is known from a research point of view about social behavior of twins over the age of six or seven, because this hasn’t been studied either.
    Pamela Patrick Novotny (20th century)

Having an identity at work separate from an identity at home means that the work role can help absorb some of the emotional shock of domestic distress. Even a mediocre performance at the office can help a person repair self-esteem damaged in domestic battles.
