Shovel Headed Kill Machine

Shovel Headed Kill Machine is the seventh studio album by the American thrash metal band Exodus, released on October 4, 2005 through Nuclear Blast. This album comes after a huge change in the band's lineup. Therefore, this is the first album to feature new vocalist Rob Dukes, after the departure of Steve "Zetro" Souza during the band's South American tour in support of the band's previous album Tempo of the Damned. It is also the band's first studio album not to feature Rick Hunolt on guitars, with Lee Altus as his replacement, and the only Exodus album to feature Paul Bostaph on drums after Tom Hunting's second departure as a result of the reoccurence of the illness that prompted him to depart in 1989. Shovel Headed Kill Machine sold over 3,000 copies in its first week of release in the U.S and by January 2007 it sold over 23,000 copies in the U.S.

Famous quotes containing the words headed, kill and/or machine:

Listen to me. You come into this town, and you think you’re headed somewhere, don’t you? You think you’re gonna get there with a gun, but you’re not. Get me. You know why, ‘cause you got thousand dollar bills pasted right across your eyes. And someday you’re gonna stumble and fall down in the gutter, right where the horses have been standin’, right where you belong.
    Ben Hecht (1893–1964)

Fortunately, somewhere between chance and mystery lies imagination, the only thing that protects our freedom, despite the fact that people keep trying to reduce it or kill it off altogether.
    Luis Buñuel (1900–1983)

The white man regards the universe as a gigantic machine hurtling through time and space to its final destruction: individuals in it are but tiny organisms with private lives that lead to private deaths: personal power, success and fame are the absolute measures of values, the things to live for. This outlook on life divides the universe into a host of individual little entities which cannot help being in constant conflict thereby hastening the approach of the hour of their final destruction.
