Shinya is an endorser of Pearl Drums, Remo drumheads and roto toms, and Sabian cymbals. Prior to his endorsements, he used to perform on drum kits by Ludwig and Yamaha, and has used cymbals by Alchemy (a cymbal line from Istanbul Agop).

On his previous kits, Shinya has used a mix of Clear/Coated Ambassador heads and Clear Emperor heads on his toms, Ebony Suede heads on his main snare, and Coated Ambassadors on his auxiliary snares.
