Yancy grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana. She graduated from Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School.. Yancy graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Telecommunications. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.
Yancy is married to Marcus Wiseman (a former Ball State University football player himself). They reside in Bethesda, Maryland. They have three sons. Their eldest son Anthony Young-Wiseman (20 October 1990) plays Back_(disambiguation)#Sports for Duke football.
