Shawn Yancy

Shawn Yancy (born in Omaha, Nebraska) is a News Anchor for WTTG-TV, FOX 5 News in Washington, DC. Yancy co-anchors FOX 5 News at 5pm & 10pm and contributes to the Newsedge @ 6 and 11pm. Yancy previously co-anchored FOX 5 Morning News from 5 to 7am. She joined the FOX 5 News team in September 2001. Her second day on the job became her first big story in Washington: The September 11th terrorist attacks.

Yancy was awarded a 2007 Regional Edward R. Murrow award for an investigative series on The Asbestos Problems inside the National Institutes of Health. She was awarded an Emmy for "Outstanding News Anchor" in Washington in 2006. She's also been honored with various Associated Press and Golden Quill awards for her reporting on breaking news.

Prior to joining Fox 5, Yancy was an anchor/reporter for WTAE-TV, the ABC affiliate in Pittsburgh and an anchor for WKJG-TV, the NBC affiliate in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Yancy had a small role as a news anchor in the 2006 film The Sentinel.
