Abilities
Shawn possesses the ability to manipulate life force, usually manifesting itself by healing others rapidly by touch. Limits for this power are unclear; in "Fear Itself" he is even able to cure a child of autism- although he does state that, as autism is also developmental, he has had limited success in the past. He is unable to save Devon's life in Fifty–Fifty when she is revealed to be promicin-intolerant.
He can also reverse this power, draining the life from others. He uses this latter ability to drive a possessing entity out of Kyle, and in a vision of the future he witnessed- in which, the catastrophe itself ripped the USA apart- he kills Richard Tyler, in apparent retaliation for Richard's pre-emptive strike (against whom has not yet been explicitly revealed). He is also forced to use this ability on his brother Danny as a mercy killing.
