Shaw Multicultural Channel

Shaw Multicultural Channel (or simply SMC) is a multicultural cable television community channel in Canada, offering programming in 25 different languages. It is owned by Shaw Communications, and is available on cable systems in the Vancouver and Calgary markets. The channel operates on digital cable channel 116 in the Lower Mainland region of British Columbia, except Delta, where it is seen on analog cable channel 51; and on cable channel 89 in the Calgary Region.

The channel was launched in 1979 as Rogers Multicultural Channel, under the ownership of Rogers Communications, and was available only in the Vancouver market on Rogers Cable. Shaw took over ownership and renamed the channel in 2000 following an asset swap with Rogers, which also saw Shaw become the primary cable television service provider in British Columbia. Service was subsequently extended to the Calgary market.

Following Shaw's acquisition of the Global Television Network, Global News launched a Mandarin version of Global National on January 23, 2012, seen weeknights on Shaw Multicultural Channel in Vancouver and Calgary.
