Shaw and Crompton is located on the Oldham & Rochdale Line with trams towards St Werburgh's Road via Manchester city centre every 12 minutes throughout the day Mondays to Saturdays and Sunday daytime, while on Sunday evening, trams run every 15 minutes. Trains to Rochdale run at an identical frequency. Services were extended from Shaw northbound to Rochdale via Milnrow on 28 February 2013 running to the same frequency as southbound services to Oldham and Manchester.
