Shanghai University of Engineering Science (SUES; simplified Chinese: 上海工程技术大学; traditional Chinese: 上海工程技術大學; pinyin: Shànghǎi Gōngchéngjìshù Dàxué) is a general full-time public university in Shanghai, China. It majors in engineering science and features a harmonious development and interdisciplinary communication of branches of learning such as management studies, art design, etc. It was established in 1978, originally under the name of Shanghai Jiao Tong University Electrical & Mechanical Branch (上海交通大学机电分校). In 1985, merged with a branch of East-China Textile Institute of Science and Technology (华东纺织学院), Shanghai University of Engineering Science was formally founded. In 2003, all the undergraduates were moved to Songjiang University Town.
