Shaka Laka Boom Boom - History

History

Shaka Laka Boom Boom first aired on Doordarshan's National Network in October 2000. The serial was created in-house by UTV, produced by Zarina Mehta, with Shifa Maitra as executive producer and directed by Sameer Kulkarni (who also directed `Family No. 1' and `Yeh Hain Mere Apne').

The character of sanju was played by actor Vishal Solanki. Other actors were Ajay Nagrath (who also worked with Vishal in 'Family No. 1' and 'Hukum Mere Aaka'), and Tanvi Bhatia. The serial was taken off air in June 2001, because the producer found the national broadcaster's policies unviable. This show was shortlisted in the children's programme category for the Asian Television Awards in 2001. This show was then taken up by STAR Plus in 2001, where the concept did not change, but the actors did. Sanju was then played by actor Kinshuk Vaidya.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

Postmodernism is, almost by definition, a transitional cusp of social, cultural, economic and ideological history when modernism’s high-minded principles and preoccupations have ceased to function, but before they have been replaced with a totally new system of values. It represents a moment of suspension before the batteries are recharged for the new millennium, an acknowledgment that preceding the future is a strange and hybrid interregnum that might be called the last gasp of the past.
Gilbert Adair, British author, critic. Sunday Times: Books (London, April 21, 1991)

The history of persecution is a history of endeavors to cheat nature, to make water run up hill, to twist a rope of sand.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

It’s a very delicate surgical operation—to cut out the heart without killing the patient. The history of our country, however, is a very tough old patient, and we’ll do the best we can.
Dudley Nichols, U.S. screenwriter. Jean Renoir. Sorel (Philip Merivale)
