- NBA Commissioner David Stern announces that the New Orleans Hornets, displaced by Hurricane Katrina, will play 35 of their 41 regular-season home games in 2005–06, plus any home playoff games, at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The remaining six home games will be played at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on the LSU campus in Baton Rouge. (NBA.com)
