Screen Cinemas

Everyman Group (known as Everyman Cinemas) is a cinema company in the United Kingdom. The company was founded in 2000 when a group of local investors bought Everyman Cinema, which dated to 1933.

In 2008, the Everyman Group acquired rival Screen Cinemas to further extend its locations. Following the acquisition, the group has, or plans to, refurbish a number of cinemas. Those already refurbished include Walton, Belsize Park, Baker Street, and the Islington-based Screen on the Green. The group now owns a chain of nine unique premium cinemas across London, Surrey and Hampshire which are renowned for their service and hospitality.

Everyman Cinemas offer a carefully selected and varied programme of films and special events, including the Metropolitan Opera from New York and the National Theatre (in selected cinemas), live Q&As, film festivals and seasons. The venues each feature a fully licensed bar with fine wines, champagnes, beers and cocktails for guests, an enhanced food offering including freshly made pizzas (in selected cinemas), and the very latest in digital technology by way of Sony Digital 4K projectors and Dolby Digital surround sound.

The group are currently in the process of extending their operating area across the UK, and as a result, are opening cinemas in Northern England. The first of these opened in Leeds in April 2013 as part of the Trinity Leeds development in the city centre.

Everyman's cinemas can vary from only having one single screen to four screens. A small number of these can cater for audiences seeking to view films in 3D.

Famous quotes containing the word screen:

Every obstruction of the course of justice,—is a door opened to betray society, and bereave us of those blessings which it has in view.... It is a strange way of doing honour to God, to screen actions which are a disgrace to humanity.
    Laurence Sterne (1713–1768)
