Screaming is a vocal technique that is most popular in subgenres of heavy metal, and is also used in some genres of punk, industrial. While intensity, pitch, and characteristics vary from vocalist to vocalist, screamed vocals generally accompany heavy music, and are associated with more aggressive musical themes or styles.
