James Doohan of Star Trek fame attended high school in Sarnia. Most notable Sarnians, however, are athletes and others associated with sports and include former NHL star Pat Verbeek, NHL referee Kerry Fraser, current NHL star Steven Stamkos, champion curler Steve Bice, and 2003 Masters Champion Mike Weir. Dominique Pegg, a Sarnia gymnast, won a Bronze Medal in Floor Exercise, at the World Cup event in Cottbus in March 2012.
