Biography
Joseph is the daughter of RAF engineer Joe Askew and a model agency owner Valerie Askew. Her mother founded the internationally successful Askew's Modelling Agency. Joseph was educated at St George's School, Hanover Square, Mayfair and St Thomas More School, Sloane Square, Chelsea. Her undergraduate degree was in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies, King's College London.
She is married to Mahmud al-Rashid, who is a human rights barrister and one of the founders of the Association of Muslim Lawyers (AML). He is of Muslim Bangladeshi heritage, who is also involved in editing the emel magazine. She resides in London with her husband and their three children.
