Sandy/Salt Lake Line

Sandy/Salt Lake Line

The Blue Line is a light rail line on the TRAX system in the Salt Lake Valley of Utah, United States operated by the Utah Transit Authority (UTA). It is the first line of the TRAX system completed. The line opened on December 4, 1999, one year ahead of schedule after two years of construction. In addition to Salt Lake City, it also serves the communities of South Salt Lake, Murray, Midvale, and Sandy. The line was known as the North/South Line or the Sandy/Salt Lake Line until color names were adopted for each TRAX line in August 2011. An extension of the line to Draper is nearly completed and expected to begin service in August 2013.

Famous quotes containing the words sandy, salt, lake and/or line:

Let a man get up and say, “Behold, this is the truth,” and instantly I perceive a sandy cat filching a piece of fish in the background. Look, you have forgotten the cat, I say.
    Virginia Woolf (1882–1941)

In order for the wheel to turn, for life to be lived, impurities are needed, and the impurities of impurities in the soil, too, as is known, if it is to be fertile. Dissension, diversity, the grain of salt and mustard are needed: Fascism does not want them, forbids them, and that’s why you’re not a Fascist; it wants everybody to be the same, and you are not. But immaculate virtue does not exist either, or if it exists it is detestable.
    Primo Levi (1919–1987)

Wordsworth went to the Lakes, but he was never a lake poet. He found in stones the sermons he had already hidden there.
    Oscar Wilde (1854–1900)

What, will the line stretch out to the crack of doom?
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)
