San Marino In The Eurovision Song Contest

San Marino has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest four times, debuting in the 2008 contest, followed by participation in 2011, 2012 and 2013. Despite having participated four times already, San Marino's entrants, next to those of other three countries (Andorra, Czech Republic and Montenegro); have never qualified from the semifinals. Hence, they have never performed in an Eurovision final.

Famous quotes containing the words san, song and/or contest:

We had won. Pimps got out of their polished cars and walked the streets of San Francisco only a little uneasy at the unusual exercise. Gamblers, ignoring their sensitive fingers, shook hands with shoeshine boys.... Beauticians spoke to the shipyard workers, who in turn spoke to the easy ladies.... I thought if war did not include killing, I’d like to see one every year. Something like a festival.
    Maya Angelou (b. 1928)

Come dame or maid, be not afraid,
    Poor Tom will injure nothing.
    —Unknown. Tom o’ Bedlam’s Song (l. 11–12)

Theologians should not be ashamed to admit that they cannot enter a contest with such antagonists [the sceptics], and that they do not want to expose the Gospel truths to such an attack. The ship of Jesus Christ is not made for sailing on this stormy sea, but for taking shelter from this tempest in the haven of faith.
    Pierre Bayle (1647–1706)
