San Jose Earthquakes - Support

Support

Among the supporters' groups affiliated with the Earthquakes are the 1906 Ultras, Club Quake and The Casbah. Another well-known independent fan is "Krazy George" Henderson. Although most widely known as a potential innovator of "The Wave" at an Oakland Athletics baseball game in 1981, Krazy George is most intimately connected to the Earthquakes, having been a supporter since 1975 with the original NASL Earthquakes.

Famous quotes containing the word support:

I concluded that I was skilled, however poorly, at only one thing: marriage. And so I set about the business of selling myself and two children to some unsuspecting man who might think me a desirable second-hand mate, a man of good means and disposition willing to support another man’s children in some semblance of the style to which they were accustomed. My heart was not in the chase, but I was tired and there was no alternative. I could not afford freedom.
    Barbara Howar (b. 1934)

There is a period near the beginning of every man’s life when he has little to cling to except his unmanageable dream, little to support him except good health, and nowhere to go but all over the place.
    —E.B. (Elwyn Brooks)

Every winter the liquid and trembling surface of the pond, which was so sensitive to every breath, and reflected every light and shadow, becomes solid to the depth of a foot or a foot and a half, so that it will support the heaviest teams, and perchance the snow covers it to an equal depth, and it is not to be distinguished from any level field. Like the marmots in the surrounding hills, it closes its eyelids and becomes dormant for three months or more.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
