Khan's mother Menaka Irani a former Zoroastrian is the sister of Honey Irani and Daisy Irani, former child stars. His father is Kamran Khan is Muslim. He has one sister, Farah Khan. Shirish Kunder is his brother-in-law. Film-makers Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar are his maternal cousins, children of Honey Irani and popular Lyricist and Story Writer Javed Akhtar.
