The service has a staff of 63 on the most populous island of St Helena, with a detachment of 6 on Ascension Island. Policing in Tristan da Cunha is undertaken by one full-time police officer and three special constables.
Saint Helena has a main police station/prison in the capital Jamestown and four small police posts in rural areas, while there is a single police station and prison on Ascension in the capital Georgetown.
