Rugby League World Golden Boot Award

Rugby League World Golden Boot Award

The Rugby League World Golden Boot Award is a rugby league award handed out annually for achievements in rugby league by Rugby League World magazine. The Golden Boot is given, usually in December after the conclusion of all the year's matches, to the player adjudged to be the best in the world, as determined by a ballot of former players and international rugby league journalists.

The oldest winner of the award is Mal Meninga, who won in 1989 at the age of 30. Of the sixteen winners only three have been forwards, Cameron Smith at hooker in 2007, Andrew Farrell at loose forward or second row in 2004 and Hugh McGahan at second row in 1987. The current holder is English stand-off Kevin Sinfield.

The best quality tea must have creases like the leathern boot of Tartar horsemen, curl like the dewlap of a mighty bullock, unfold like a mist rising out of a ravine, gleam like a lake touched by a zephyr, and be wet and soft like a fine earth newly swept by rain.
