Ronald M. Mottl

Ronald Milton Mottl (born February 6, 1934) is an American politician of the Democratic Party who had been a member of the state House of Representatives of Ohio from 1987 to 1997.

Mottl was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and attended the University of Notre Dame. He is a lawyer, and served in the city council of Parma, Ohio from 1960 to 1966 and the Ohio state legislature from 1967 until 1975, before serving in the United States House of Representatives from 1975 to 1983. A conservative Democrat, Mottl was an ally of Ronald Reagan's legislative agenda.

He lost the Democratic primary to Ed Feighan in 1982, thereby losing his seat. He then returned to local politics, serving on the Parma school board from 1985 until 1986, and as president of the school board in 1986, until he was elected to the Ohio House of Representatives, where he served until 1997.

He now lives in North Royalton, Ohio, and was an unsuccessful candidate for Mayor of North Royalton in 1999.
