Rock This Town

"Rock This Town" is a song by the Stray Cats from their UK debut album Stray Cats. Its first U.S. release was on the 1982 album Built for Speed. It peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1982, becoming the first of the band's three top ten hits in the U.S. It had also previously reached this position on the UK Singles Chart in 1981.

The song has been listed by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as one of the 500 songs that shaped Rock and Roll. Even the side-project band The Brian Setzer Orchestra has recorded a cover of the song.

Famous quotes containing the words rock and/or town:

My spirit looks to God alone,
My rock and refuge is His throne,
In all my fears, in all my straits,
My soul on His salvation waits.
    Isaac Watts (1674–1748)

Tiresome heart, forever living and dying,
House without air, I leave you and lock your door.
Wild swans, come over the town, come over
The town again, trailing your legs and crying!
    Edna St. Vincent Millay (1892–1950)
