Political Career
He entered politics in 2004 as a congressional candidate of Pasig City. Dodot's opponent was the then incumbent congressman, Noel "Toti" Cariño who would lose to him. But Toti and Dodot would become party mates in 2006. Upon finishing his congressional term in 2007, he filed his Certificate of Candidacy for mayor of Pasig. One of his opponents was the incumbent Mayor's son, Bobby Eusebio. Dodot's party mates then in the political party called Partido Pasigueño were Toti and the 2004 vice mayoralty candidate, Briccio "Echie" Ramos. The early part of the election vote tally showed Dodot leading, but was overtaken by Bobby. Dodot lost the mayoralty election but promised to file a protest against his winning opponent, Bobby Eusebio.
